Wasp Nest Treatment

Our wasp nest treatment and removal will get rid of your wasps fast, our pest control technicians can generally reach you within 24 hours, or on a specific day to suit you. Just one visit is needed to get rid of wasps, the product that we use is stronger than other fly and wasp killer, or ‘wasp nest killer’ that can be bought by the general public, and therefore effectively gets to the heart of the wasps nest.

Wasps are seen mostly in late summer, throughout July and August, this is the time when nests are at their most active state and wasps can be highly aggressive. We always advise NOT to treat wasps nests yourself, without protective equipment and professional pest control treatment you increase your chances of getting stung. If wasps feel that their nest is threatened they will swarm, and have the ability to sting more than once. Wasp stings are painful and can cause swelling, but in more severe cases they can cause an allergic reaction, and lead to anaphylactic shock.

As a local company we have been providing pest control services to the surrounding areas for over 30 years, all of our technicians are fully qualified to carry out wasp treatments and wasp nest removal. We use protective clothing and professional products to ensure the wasp powder or wasp spray is administered correctly, effectively and safely.

If untreated, wasps nests will continue to grow, at the end of each season the queen will lay up to 30 queen wasp eggs, they will hatch and hibernate elsewhere in the local area for the winter, ready to start building a new wasps nest in the spring. Potentially one wasps nest could multiply into a lot more the following year!

Getting Rid of a Wasps Nest

Removing wasps nests is usually not necessary if the nest is not causing an obstruction, the wasp treatment we use is effective enough to kill the wasps in the nest and the queen, meaning that any wasps that return to the nest will also die. Where the wasps nest is causing a problem, for example inside an extractor fan or ventilation system, we can then remove the nest. Wasps do not return to or reuse old nests, new nests are built each year. Wasp removal is not possible without treating the nest, as they will be highly aggressive if their nest is under threat.

Bees

As bees are a beneficial insect, they are incredibly important for pollination, and therefore a vital part of food production. Unfortunately numbers have been on the decline for the past few years, so we like to leave them be. We urge customers to allow bees to nest or swarm wherever possible, swarms are how they communicate, and they are not naturally aggressive. Bee swarms will generally move on within 48 hours. There are a number of species of bumblebees that are solitary, they are not part of a swarm or nest, they are the fuzzy kind and one of the best pollinators!

However, we understand that in some cases the bees nest can cause accessibility issues, and a danger to health and safety due to allergies, we recommend getting in touch with a local beekeeper who can offer advice and relocate the nest if possible. Take a look at the British Beekeeping Association website for more information and to locate your nearest beekeeper.
